Active writing for this blog and sharing content with the world has been an enriching experience for me, if not monetarily successful (there’s still hope!). The interactions with kind people from all walks of life online has given me a different perspective on the world at large. I have found that nothing beats Twitter for expanding your reach and introducing you to like-minded people from all over the globe.
Don’t get me wrong, I dig Facebook, and interact there a lot. It’s fun and it deepens the interactions you already have with people. But Twitter is a different animal, one where multiple messages, and linking to multiple posts many times a day is easy.
Why I Like Twitter
It’s true, I have connected with some amazing, creative people from all walks of life. People like @arkarthick, @muz4now, @ShannonGrissom and @AnnTran_ whose creative endeavors are similar to mine. Knowing them and interacting on Twitter has given me great insight into my own world.

2. Enjoy Watching Google Analytics
Installed on my wordpress blog is Google Analytics that lets me see in graphs and statistics how many people are sharing my posts, and from what country in the world. I am amazed by the direct correlation of traffic to the blog site from when I am active on Twitter.

3. Twitter Cuts the Awkwardness OUT
Unlike Facebook you don’t have to “friend” someone and have that awkward moment “Will they accept my friendship?” “What does it mean if they don’t?” Ugh. With Twitter, you just “follow” people, you don’t need to know them first. They either follow you back or not, but it’s NO BIG DEAL.

4. Multiple Thought Streams
The fact is people like myself have multiple things going on in their lives, multiple interests. It is easy to have multiple profiles working different arenas on Twitter, so all types of people get to know you on a variety of topics.

Great post, I can relate to everything you said :) I too enjoy FB from time to time but I’m always pulled back to the thrill of Twitter. It never ceases to amaze me how different we all are yet, so alike…all over the world. I’ve made some great friendships on twitter, people I’ve yet to meet…that is something I don’t think I could have thought possible only a few years back
