Greetings, Trace here. I have been writing since I was 12 or so, starting with poetry and free form stuff, graduating to formal song lyrics, essays, published articles, music reviews, video scripts and promotional / technical writing as an adult, or as a young guy trapped in an adult body…
I’ve long skirted the idea of having a blog, now giving it a whirl. People often tell me I lead an interesting life, and I think generally that’s true, but of course the trials and tribulations of video and TV production are more common than the truly memorable moments. But then isn’t that what makes a memorable moment? If it was common, it would hardly be memorable.
So, what am I doing here? It’s a grasp at capturing ideas and stories that seem important or monumental, curious, funny, informative, thought provoking, silly or anything else slipping through my mind.
Also, it’s something of an experiment, this Internet thing, isn’t it? One never knows how far a word or image can go in this medium. I like the idea of a quest, seeing how many people we can meet and new ideas we can experience simply by posting thoughts, and seeking feedback.
Thanks for tuning in.

We are branching out to include new services. Please read below for details.
In business terms, I continue to offer Director of Photography services for corporate, broadcast and documentary projects, with a renewed focus on my work as a Writer and Producer.
I am now offering my services as a Media Consultant for large and small business entities. I am combining my skills of more than two decades of television production with my new skills as a blogger and social media strategist. I have worked hard to develop a deep knowledge of the intricacies of using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Linkedin for marketing of products and services. Being in a unique position of having experience with both “traditional” and “new” media is valuable to many business owners. Please visit my blog site > The Social Freelancer. Call if you need assistance in marketing using video and social media.
Additionally, a life long passion for music and documentary filmmaking has come to fruition with the release of our first music CD, “Prosperity Street” by Trace Relations Band. It is independently produced and features some excellent musicians from Texas, combining blues, rock, jazz and americana influences. Please visit the Trace Relations official website for more about the music. Sales of the CD go to support the making of film “South Texas Soul: The San Antonio Sound”, via contributions to the 501c-3 non-profit Still Kickin’ Foundation.
Here is the preview of the documentary “South Texas Soul” as seen on Youtube where it has now received more than 17,000 views >
Your tax deductible donations to the Still Kickin’ Foundation go directly to support the completion of this documentary as well as a second film about the history and future of senior health care in America, “Assisted Living America”. Here is the preview of that project > http://youtu.be/wXEq2Yu-vik
I am also proud to have produced an instructional DVD program with two noted psychologists, dealing with the issue of “parental alienation” and it’s impact on children of divorced parents. This video titled “Welcome Back, Pluto” is selling well on Amazon and is helping families all over the world. As another sample of our recent work, or if you are interested in more information about this important family issue, please view this sample chapter from the DVD >
