Greet­ings, Trace here. I have been writ­ing since I was 12 or so, start­ing with poetry and free form stuff, grad­u­at­ing to for­mal song lyrics, essays, pub­lished arti­cles, music reviews, video scripts and pro­mo­tional / tech­ni­cal writ­ing as an adult, or as a young guy trapped in an adult body…

I’ve long skirted the idea of hav­ing a blog, now giv­ing it a whirl. Peo­ple often tell me I lead an inter­est­ing life, and I think gen­er­ally that’s true, but of course the tri­als and tribu­la­tions of video and TV pro­duc­tion are more com­mon than the truly mem­o­rable moments. But then isn’t that what makes a mem­o­rable moment? If it was com­mon, it would hardly be memorable.

So, what am I doing here? It’s a grasp at cap­tur­ing ideas and sto­ries that seem impor­tant or mon­u­men­tal, curi­ous, funny, infor­ma­tive, thought pro­vok­ing, silly or any­thing else slip­ping through my mind.

Obvi­ously, its smart to pro­mote your­self too. And I will use the TraceTV blog for that as well, giv­ing peri­odic updates on projects we are devel­op­ing. My inten­tion is for these things to be infor­ma­tive, and to spur feed­back, good and bad. I believe in seek­ing opin­ion on projects and have seen that suc­cess­ful peo­ple were not afraid to seek hon­est feed­back from a vari­ety of sources.

Also, it’s some­thing of an exper­i­ment, this Inter­net thing, isn’t it? One never knows how far a word or image can go in this medium. I like the idea of a quest, see­ing how many peo­ple we can meet and new ideas we can expe­ri­ence sim­ply by post­ing thoughts, and seek­ing feedback.
