About the Future: What Will You Do?

Predictions are novelties but “actions speak louder than words”. The only question about the future that any of us can actually answer is “What will I do?”

Long Live George Jetson
When I was a kid, I loved The Jetsons cartoons and tried to never miss it on Saturday mornings. Watching George flying to work, dropping off daughter Judy, Boy Elroy and Jane his wife, then arriving to have his personal air-car “transform” to his briefcase fascinated me. The whole show was a prediction of the future but the characters were just like people in my everyday life.

Happy Birthday to Texas Tornado Augie Meyers

Wishing the great Augie Meyers a very happy birthday, today May 31, 2011.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Augie since I was fifteen years old (a long time ago…). He’s been a good friend and constant source of inspiration and motivation for me in music. Now, on his birthday (I won’t say which one), with Augie doing well after a kidney transplant last year and a tour with the Texas Tornados in the works, I give you this post; my thanks to legendary Texas musician: Augie Meyers.

Happy Birthday to Augie

Who’s Augie? Performer, songwriter, keyboardist, accordionist, vocalist most notably with Sir Douglas Quintet, Texas Tornados and as a side man to Bob Dylan, John Hammond, Jr. and many more… See Augie Meyers on tour this summer with Texas Tornados

READ on, help us celebrate Augie’s birthday and see the preview of the documentary in progress: South Texas Soul: The San Antonio Sound >>> Read more…

Social Networking the New Year, and why not?

(Original post: December 31, 2008)

It’s New Years Eve, 2008; Wow! what an amazing year it’s been, through the tumultuous election process and downturn in economy, we are still hanging in here, and feel quite blessed to be at home with family today. Among other things, this has been a year in which I delved headlong into social networking, and it has been fun and rewarding for me both personally and professionally. I have gathered a few thoughts here, that I hope will benefit others, so here we go…

Connections are important, but content is powerful.
I was resistant to the social networking / blogging idea until I began to see the hidden potential for my businesses, and our developing music and documentary film projects.
