Why You Should Schedule Tweets AND Engage. Yes. It Matters.

A myth: “Scheduling posts to Twitter is impersonal, everyone hates it.”
A truth: “It is important to engage with your followers, interact with them on Twitter so that they know you are a real person, not a “bot”"

If you use Twitter for your business, or to spread the word about a project you are passionate about, you have likely heard both of these statements. You may ask “why would I schedule tweets?”

Desire and Discipline: The Not So Simple Keys to Success

Desire is KEY. If you don’t have a true desire to create something of value or learn a new skill, chances are you won’t do the work necessary to “make it happen”. You know how it goes, you get excited about an idea and “toy” with it, get bored, then move on to something else. It’s an infatuation as compared to “true love”.

Discipline is crucial and my most difficult challenge because it is required to take something (anything) from a “I wish I could be a _______(writer, musician, performer, gardener, cook etc…)” to
“I AM a writer” or “I AM a singer.” or “I AM a ________.” (insert endeavor of your choice).”

Four Tips for Surviving Social Media

What to do with Social Media? Be careful, but have fun… Here are four quick tips for surviving social media, hope you find it helpful.

1. Use common sense. Simple. Don’t put your home address anywhere on your websites, blogs, profiles, anywhere. I keep a business mailing address that is posted on my sites, but it’s no one’s business where I live.

Why Social Media Matters and How Marketing Doesn’t Change (“Old Media” vs NEW)

Not convinced social media matters? Watch ANY news program on television, from CNN to Fox to MSNBC – EVERY SINGLE ONE now will bombard you with invitations to connect on Facebook AND Twitter. Trust me, I have worked in television for more than twenty years. If social media wasn’t having a positive impact on their relationship with viewers, thereby driving up the value of advertising, THEY WOULDN’T BE DOING IT.

Repetitive messaging works with ALL MEDIA, whether we like it or not...
