Why What’s OLD is NEW in Social Media

Often, people tell me they are not active on Facebook or Twitter because they feel like they don’t have anything to say.

The fact is they’re getting too hung up on being totally original. If you stop and think about it, no one is truly original or “earth shattering” very often.

“The Golden Hour” Origins

“The Golden Hour” is an elusive time, one of God’s miracles that happens twice a day, whether we notice or not.
Just after sunrise and just before dusk everyday the sun gets low in the sky, making the shadows long and deep, giving definition and a certain quality to the subject that has been sought out by visual artists for centuries. Prior to photography, painters would often set up their easels in these spots in the day, when the light is just right.

How I Use Music to Drive Social Media

Music lets people know who you are

I love music. Period. I have surrounded my life with music and connect with it on many levels, daily. Now I have discovered ways to use music to feed social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Youtube.

In this video I describe how I listen to music (something I would be doing anyway) and grow my social networks all while doing “actual” work in my office. I hope you find it helpful. If so (or if not) would you please post comments below or post this to your Facebook page?…or both? That would rock me. Thanks.

Missin’ Miss Marcy Mondays, Goodbye Pearl

Guitars & horns wailin' at final DFW Blues Society Jam at Pearl - Photo by Tracy Ready

Goodbye to Pearl, a great blues club in Dallas, Texas whose owners have shut the doors after four years of providing top notch blues and jazz acts a great venue to play downtown. Divorce can be devastating to families, with ripple effects upon the lives of parents and children.

The phenomenon is called “Alienation”. Even when parents are really trying to get along after a divorce, they will sometimes revert to sending negative messages to the child about their other parent. Bad Mouthing, brain washing, whatever you like to call it, it is devastating to children.
